Designed specifically for third grade students, Ben Franklin’s Electricity Party provides the perfect balance of live performance and hands-on workshop fun. Old Ben shares his discoveries into the “electric fire” and your students experiment with static electricity.
De Africa al Caribe: The 5,000 Mile Journey of the Conga Drum
Yamil Conga, the Drumming DJ, takes on on the 5,000-mile journey of the conga drum, from its African origins to its role in Latino and American music, in this rhythmic and dance-inducing presentation. We follow the drum through its passage across the Atlantic during the trans-Atlantic slave trade and how it became a musical staple in various cultures. The performance includes stunning visuals, hands-on drumming, and music to get participants on their feet or at least tapping their toes!
